MONCTON (N.B.) – Just one week after choosing to leave one of her two full-time jobs in order to spend more time with her family, Jamie Sullivan of Saint John, N.B. won the $1-million top prize on the Casino Multiplier Scratch’N Win ticket.
After scratching her $1-million ticket on a Thursday night, she was too excited to work the next day.
“Last Friday was my last day at my other job and so I actually had to call in rich,” Sullivan said.
Casino Multiplier is a $10 Scratch’N Win ticket with a top prize of $1 million. The game launched in January 2023 and there are five top prizes still remaining.
“It’s very surreal, very ‘pinch me I’m not sure if I’m dreaming,’” Sullivan said. “I’m glad I’m here now, so it’s becoming a reality and even more exciting.”
Sullivan and her family have wanted a Boston terrier for a number of years but they didn’t feel the timing was right to adopt previously. Following their big win, the family decided it was finally time.
“I saw a post on Facebook that someone backed out of adopting this little Boston terrier puppy and I was like ‘I think it’s meant to be, this is it now,’” Sullivan said. “So, I went to get him and we named him Lotto. It just felt like everything was happening just exactly as it was supposed to.”
Sullivan’s plans for her winnings are to build a new home and live mortgage-free, help her recently retired parents and establish education funds for her children. She also plans to cross off a few items on her bucket list by seeing Garth Brooks, Reba McEntire and George Strait in concert, all with VIP treatment and backstage passes so she can meet her idols.
Sullivan purchased her winning Casino Multiplier ticket at Circle K on Loch Lomond Road in Saint John, N.B. The retailer will receive a one per cent seller’s prize.
