As a publicly owned corporation, we strive to support and celebrate everything that makes Atlantic Canada a special place to live. Each year, Atlantic Lottery proudly sponsors more than 100 community events that have important cultural, social and economic impacts across the region.
Although we would like to say “yes” to all applications, we do need to consider factors such as budget, timing, number of events, restrictions and program guidelines
This program focuses on festivals, exhibitions and events that celebrate the culture that is unique within each community/region.
These events are typically comprised of several components and activities that provide a “complete” experience for all - from visiting the horse and oxen barns, to taking in live local music, to a come-home community gathering or celebration! This program is intended to be grassroots and live within a community where friends, families and neighbours can come together to enjoy a special day or weekend-long event.
The goal of our Community Festival and Events Program is to reach events in every corner of Atlantic Canada every year.
Applying for Community Festivals and Events Program Sponsorship
We are accepting applications for events year-round. The application form will always remain open so you can submit your event’s application at your earliest convenience. Applications will be reviewed in three (3) waves. Below is the breakdown:
Wave 1: January – April events
All events happening between January 1st and April 30th must be submitted no later than November 15th. The applications will be reviewed, and the applicant will be advised of the status of their request no later than December 1st.
Wave 2: May – August events
All events happening between May 1st and August 31st must be submitted no later than March 15th. The applications will be reviewed, and the applicant will be advised of the status of their request no later than April 1st.
Wave 3: September – December events
All events happening between September 1st and December 31st must be submitted no later than July 15th. The applications will be reviewed, and the applicant will be advised of the status of their request no later than August 1st.

Our Corporate Sponsorship Program is designed to provide financial support to community initiatives all across Atlantic Canada with the goal of strengthening the region. Examples of corporate sponsorship focus areas include healthcare, innovation, and business advocacy.

Our Charitable and Not-for-Profit Support
Atlantic Lottery and its employees support community organizations, fundraisers and volunteering efforts by donating their resources, time and expertise to worthwhile causes. The United Way continues to be an important partner. Over the years, Atlantic Lottery and its employees have been proud to donate more than $1.2 million to United Way throughout Atlantic Canada since 1993.
While we love being part of Atlantic Canadian celebrations that meet our guidelines, some restrictions do apply. We do not currently have programs that fund:
· Cash or merchandise donation requests
· Grants, scholarships or bursary programs
· Education institutions or programs
· Religious institutions or organizations
· Trade shows
· Individual initiatives
· Individual sport or recreational teams/groups
· Travel expenses, trips or tours
· Advertising for fundraising or event support
· Personal family gatherings or friends events
· Unregistered, not-for-profit groups
· Political organizations and candidates
· Lobby or advocacy groups
· Vehicles, recreational or equipment purchases
· Professional societies
· Debt reduction or operating expenses
· Events outside of Atlantic Canada
