Mobile App Ticket Scanning Issue

Atlantic Lottery wishes to inform players it has determined that a small percentage of players received an incorrect non-winning message when using the mobile app’s ticket scanner to check draw tickets. 

As a result, some players with winning tickets were told their ticket was not a winner. 

This error occurred intermittently from October 16, 2023 to January 25, 2024 and was immediately corrected upon discovery.

We encourage players to rescan any tickets they may have from this time.

This only occurred when using the mobile app’s ticket scanner to check draw tickets. All ticket scanners at retail were functioning correctly.

Based on our analysis, the error resulted in approximately $27,000 of total cash prizes not being claimed. A thorough investigation has confirmed that no prizes of $1,027 or more were affected. 

Players who can be identified as being logged into their alc.ca account when they scanned their ticket will automatically receive the amount of their prize(s) in their alc.ca account. We encourage players who have used the mobile ticket checker during this time and have questions or concerns to contact Atlantic Lottery at 1-877-252-3287. 

Ensuring players receive the prizes they are entitled to is the most important thing Atlantic Lottery does and we recognize this error has resulted in a negative experience for our players. We are reviewing our processes to identify potential improvements and prevent similar occurrences in the future.
